Match preview

For champions Real Madrid, it's all about make sure they prepare as well as they possible can for the Champions League Final on 28 May.

12 days ago, los Blancos lifted the La Liga trophy following a 4-0 drubbing of Espanyol.

Then, four days later, Carlo Ancelotti's team pulled off an astonishing Champions League comeback against Manchester City.

Trailing by two going into stoppage time, Rodrygo's brace, coming 88 seconds apart, forced extra time, with Karim Benzema's penalty completing the remontada.

Given all of this, Ancelotti, understandably, made lots of changes for Sunday night's el Derbi Madrileño that they lost 1-0 to Atlético Madrid.

Now though, with three Liga games remaining, it's all about building the momentum before their heavyweight meeting with Liverpool in Paris.

Only four times before, in 1957, 1958, 1986 and 2017, have Real won both the La Liga title and European Cup in the same season.

Thus, what an achievement this would be for Ancelotti, who's been breaking all kinds of records this season.

In contrast, Levante look set for the Segunda División, despite a valiant attempt at a great escape.

The Bats didn't win any of their first 19 matches this season, with their 27-game winless streak setting a new Spanish top-flight record.

More recently, last Friday night in fact, Alessio Lisci's side recored their sixth victory since then, doing so in dramatic fashion.

Jorge Miramón opened the scoring before Gonzalo Melero's stoppage time penalty snatched a 2-1 victory at Estadi Ciutat de València against Real Sociedad.

Despite this, Levante ended the weekend 19th, five points from safety with just three games to go.

So, if the Bats are beaten here and have beaten Athletic Club on Tuesday, Levante's relegation will be confirmed.

Can the desperate visitors cause a massive shock at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu?

Real Madrid team news

Star players Thibaut Courtois, Dani Carvajal, Ferland Mendy, Luka Modrić, Fede Valverde, Vinícius Júnior and Karim Benzema were all on the bench at the weekend.

David Alaba meanwhile was taken off at half time in Manchester so is in a race against time to be fit for the Champions League Final.

Marcelo, Dani Ceballos, Isco, Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale are all out, but this is less of a concern for Carlo Ancelotti.

As was the case at the weekend, fringe players like Andriy Lunin, Nacho, Jesús Vallejo, Eduardo Camavinga, Marco Asensio and Luka Jović could all start.

Vini Jr. scored a brace in the reverse fixture, meaning he's netted three times in his last three appearances against Levante.

Levante team news

Levante are without Shkodran Mustafi who's injured while fellow veteran centre-back Martín Cáceres could be fit enough to return.

Striker José Luis Morales has scored three times in his last seven games against Real Madrid, including a stunning winner when they met in February 2020.
