Austrian Grand Prix Recap
Last week’s Austrian Grand Prix saw Lando Norris convert pole position into a race win, securing his third win of the 2025 Formula 1 season.
It was an impressive drive from the British driver, where he survived various attempts from teammate Oscar Piastri to take the lead of the race.
On the first lap, Max Verstappen was out of the race after a crash with Kimi Antonelli, which also saw the young Mercedes driver out. Carlos Sainz didn’t even get his race started with an aborted start caused by a failure with his Williams car.
Piastri momentarily took Norris’s lead of the race; however, he immediately took it back, extending his lead further following the first round of pit stops.
It went from bad to worse for Red Bull, following Verstappen’s early retirement from the race as Yuki Tsunoda received a time penalty for a collision with Alpine’s Franco Colapinto.
Winners so far this season:
- Australian GP – Lando Norris
- Chinese GP – Oscar Piastri
- Japanese GP – Max Verstappen
- Bahrain GP – Oscar Piastri
- Saudi Arabia GP – Oscar Piastri
- Miami GP – Oscar Piastri
- Emilia Romagna GP – Max Verstappen
- Monaco GP – Lando Norris
- Spanish GP – Oscar Piastri
- Canadian GP – George Russell
- Austrian GP – Lando Norris
British Grand Prix Qualifying Preview
Three home drivers secured the front three places on the grid at the British Grand Prix 2024. George Russell qualified in P1, ahead of Lewis Hamilton, who was second, and Lando Norris, who was third.
The British trio will be hoping for a similar result at the 2025 edition of the race, with Norris looking to secure pole position following a pole in Austria last week that he turned into a win in the race.
Following the best finish for Ferrari last time out, Lewis Hamilton will be keen to give his home crowd another British Grand Prix to remember, heading into the weekend as the defending champion.
This year sees another home driver at Silverstone as Ollie Bearman drives in front of a home crowd for the first time in a Formula One race. The 20-year-old will be hoping for a strong performance to get his Haas car as close to the front of the grid as possible.
