Uruguay v Spain: Confirmed line-ups as Bielsa’s men seek win to carry them through

It has been a hugely underwhelming World Cup so far for Uruguay and draws against Cape Verde and Saudi Arabia mean their hopes of progressing through to the round of 32 are in serious peril.

Only a win against European champions Spain would guarantee them a place in the first knockout stage although a draw may be enough depending on results elsewhere.

But with reports suggesting all is not well behind the scenes in the Uruguay camp, a positive performance tonight appears a long shot.

Spain are all but through but need a win to guarantee top spot in Group H. Luis de la Fuente’s side started slowly with a draw against Cape Verde but looked back to their best in thrashing Saudi Arabia last time out.
