Chelsea have started strong again in their first Premier League home game of the season, storming into a three-goal lead against Brighton.
The Blues were ahead after just four minutes, representing the second time they have taken the lead inside the opening five minutes in the new campaign.
Romeo Lavia was the scorer, bundling home a loose ball after Joao Pedro’s header was spilled by goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.
Chelsea’s lead was doubled 10 minutes later by Pedro Neto.
After some good work from Morgan Rogers to get down the left-hand-side, the £117million man squared for Neto, who tapped home to double the lead.
It could have been three for the hosts after Neto then teed up Pedro for what appeared to be a simple finish, but uncharacteristically, the Brazilian put the ball wide.
However, he would make up for the mistake in the 31st minute, once again linking up with Rogers.
This time, with space in the box, he made no mistake, finding the bottom corner to finish the game in the second half.
