It has been a fascinating weekend of Premier League football and it concludes tonight with the MNF offering between Coventry and Newcastle, a game that we’re focusing on for our Tip of the Day.
The Sky Blues got their first win prior to the international break with a 1-0 triumph at Nottingham Forest, a result that should restore their confidence after some shaky performances on their return to the top flight.
Newcastle have picked up more points than their performances have warranted. The underlying metrics suggest Matthias Jaissle’s men have been a touch fortunate so far and this ought to be a fairly even contest between two sides whose primary aim is to stay in the Premier League.
While we don’t think it will be a goal fest, both teams should score and there will be enough of an edge for both to also receive a yellow card.
Much of Newcastle’s attacking threat comes from Harvey Barnes and we fancy the former Leicester winger to have at least one shot on target. He has managed that in each of Newcastle’s last three games.
Monday’s tip (Odds are from bet365 and correct as of 10am on Monday, October 12)
Coventry v Newcastle – both teams to score @ 4/7
Coventry v Newcastle – both teams to receive a card @ 1/4
Newcastle’s Harvey Barnes to have 1+ shots on target @ 4/9
Combined odds of 33/20
A £10 stake will return £26.50
