Arsenal attempted to end another trophyless season on a high when they visited relegated Southampton.
Mikel Arteta’s side finished as runners-up once again but he will point to a season of progress, most notably in the Champions League, in which they reached the semi-finals.
For Southampton, it was a miserable season with no discernible signs of any positives.
