January Transfer Window: Friday round-up as West Ham striker departs for AC Milan
Niclas Füllkrug has moved to Milan in the January transfer window
West Ham flop Niclas Füllkrug has left East London to join AC Milan on an initial loan deal until the end of the season in one of the first moves of the January transfer window.
The Germany international joined the Hammers from Borussia Dortmund at the start of last season and was expected to solve their long-term goalscoring problem. But he managed just three goals in 26 games with his progress curtailed by numerous injuries.
Milan, who are second in Serie A and just a point behind leaders Inter, also have the option to make the move for the 32-year-old permanent in the summer.
One in, one out at Bournemouth
Bournemouth are expected to have a busy January and they started their business with two moves today.
Full-back Julian Araujo has left for Celtic on loan while experienced goalkeeper Fraser Forster joins on a short-term deal from Tottenham.
The Cherries are still waiting on winger Antoine Semenyo to complete his move to Manchester City and the Ghana international will be in the squad for tomorrow’s clash with Arsenal.
Forster was not the only departure from Spurs today with centre-half Kota Takai moving to Borussia Monchengladbach for the remainder of the season.
Take joined Spurs from Kawasaki Frontale in July but has been hampered by injuries.
