Curtis Jones says Eden Hazard was a better player than Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah.
Comparisons are often drawn between Hazard and Salah given their similar, diminutive stature and the general brilliance the pair have brought to the Premier League.
And while Jones grew up watching Hazard and remains a huge fan, he says heβd rather have Salah alongside him.
The Liverpudlian told TNT Sports ahead of tomorrow nightβs Champions League clash with Lille at Anfield: βI know he [Hazard] is compared with Mo all the time. Iβve been into it with Mo.
“As a player who Iβve seen from [being] a kid, I loved the game, I was studying the game and I wanted to be like a player. I feel like it was Hazard who was the one. Every game I watched him I was just like wowβ¦ thatβs football.β
Jones added: “As a footballer is he better than Mo? In my opinion yes. But who would you rather have in your team? Youβre going to say Mo because he gets you the goals and the assists.β
Jonesβ verdict caused a stir on social media, promoting Jones to reiterate his point over who he would rather play alongside.
