Bukayo Saka agrees new five-year deal at Arsenal

England winger Bukayo Saka has agreed a new, five year-contract with Arsenal, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.

Saka had 18 months left on his remaining deal but has committed his future to the Premier League leaders on improved terms following prolonged talks over recent months.

The 24-year-old has emerged as a key player for club and country and will be pivotal not just for the Gunners over the rest of the season but also to England’s challenge at the World Cup this summer.

Saka to remain a key part of the Arsenal machine

The move continues Arsenal’s policy of trying to tie down their best young players on long-term deals with Saka following in the footsteps of William Saliba, Gabriel, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly in agreeing to stay at the Emirates.

Like Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly, Saka is a product of the Arsenal academy and has been a mainstay of the side since making his debut against Vorskla Poltava in 2018.

Saka made his first England appearance against Wales as a left-back in a 3-0 win in 2020. He played at Euro 2020, missing a penalty in the shoot-out defeat to Italy in the final, and the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
