Amad Diallo is hopeful Alejandro Garnacho will remain at Manchester United despite reports he has been told he can leave.
Ruben Amorim included Garnacho in United’s squad for a post-season tour of Asia, despite seemingly making the winger surplus to requirements in the wake of United’s worst ever Premier League season.
United suffered more humiliation to start that tour as they were beaten 1-0 by the ASEAN All-Stars.
They will face Hong Kong on Friday to finish the tour and, speaking ahead of that game, Amad expressed his wish for Garnacho to stay at Old Trafford.
“Alejandro is a really good player and we need good players in the team,” Amad said.
“I know Garna really well, so I hope to have Garna next season. It is not really a big issue for the team. Everything is good now, I think.”
Garnacho scored six goals and provided two assists in the Premier League, his eight goal involvements bettered only by Bruno Fernandes (18 – eight goals, 10 assists) and Amad (14 – eight goals, six assists).

He was the only player to feature in all 15 of United’s Europa League games as they progressed to the final, only to suffer a 1-0 defeat to Tottenham.
Garnacho was left on the bench for the Bilbao showpiece, playing just 20 minutes as United failed to break down a Spurs side that sat deep and were rarely troubled as they protected the lead Brennan Johnson’s first-half opener gave them.
Following his omission from the starting XI for the final, Garnacho did not feature in United’s Premier League finale, a 2-0 win over Aston Villa that saw Amad break the deadlock with a header.
Asked about Garnacho’s presence on the Asia tour, Amorim said: “It’s not a surprise. He’s a player of Manchester United, all the players are here.
“Some players are injured and it was better not to fly here to play these two games so it’s a normal situation. It’s okay.”
