Allan Elias has called his transfer to Manchester City from Palmeiras “surreal” after joining the Premier League leaders from Brazilian side Palmeiras for £34 million.
City have paid £32 million with a potential £2.2m in add-ons for the 22-year-old right-sided wideman, who has signed a five-year deal and could replace Savio, who joined Tottenham for £75m last week.
“Manchester City, with everything they have won over the past 15 years, are one of the most attractive clubs in the world for players,” Elias told City.
“To be able to sit here today and say I have joined them is the proudest moment of my life.”

“I love Palmeiras and always will,” Elias said of the club he joined as a youth-team player in 2019 before breaking through in 2025.
“But the decision to come to City was an easy one. I want to be the best footballer I can be and the conversations I’ve had with the people at City so far have convinced me there isn’t a better place for me to fulfil my ambitions.
“I want to promise the Manchester City fans I will give absolutely everything to make the most of this opportunity.
“Now the hard work begins. I will give 100% in training and make the best case possible to the manager I should be playing.
“My intention is to help City continue winning trophies. If I can do that, it would be a dream come true.”

City say the prospect comes from the “surfing paradise” of Florianopolis in southern Brazil and started playing futsal at the age of seven before joining Club Figueirense as a 14-year-old.
Having contributed 17 goals and four assists for Palmeiras’ under-20s, Allan became a first-team regular and played an important role in their comeback from 3-0 behind after the first leg of their Copa Libertadores tie against LDU Quito last season, providing an assist and winning the decisive penalty.
After losing the first leg 3-0 in Ecuador, Palmeiras pulled off a stunning 4-0 win with Allan setting up the opener for Ramon Sosa before being fouled in the dying minutes for the match-winning penalty.

When does the summer transfer window 2026 close?
The window opened on Monday June 15 and will shut on Tuesday September 1.
After that, every Premier League club can register a squad of up to 25 players, 17 of whom are allowed to be non-Home Grown Players.
A Home Grown Player has been registered with any club affiliated to the English or Welsh Football Association for three entire seasons or 36 months across their career before his 21st birthday, or the end of the season during which they turn 21.
Under-21 players do not count towards the 25-man limit.

The Premier League winter transfer window opens on Friday January 1, 2027 and closes on Monday February 1, 2027 at 23:00 BST.
Can Premier League clubs sign players outside of the window?
Clubs can only add players outside of transfer windows who are free agents and if they have room in their 25-man squad.
Premier League teams can still announce deals with other clubs, but those players will not be registered to play until the window re-opens.
