PSG 2-2 Marseille (4-1 on penalties): Report, result, goals from 2025 Trophee des Champions

Lucas Chevalier saved twice in the shootout and Desire Doue converted the winning spot kick as Paris Saint-Germain beat arch-rivals Marseille to win the Trophee des Champions for a 14th time after Goncalo Ramos drew the holders level in the 95th minute in Kuwait.

OM recovered from Ousmane Dembele’s 13th-minute opener to lead through Mason Greenwood’s penalty in the 76th minute and Willian Pacho’s own goal with three minutes of regular time remaining.

Six minutes after coming on, Ramos volleyed in from Bradley Barcola’s header to set up a shootout in which the forward, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes and Doue ensured PSG scored with all four of their efforts, leaving Chevalier as the hero courtesy of saves from Matt O’Riley and Hamed Traore.

PSG have now won the showpiece, which is contested each season between the Ligue 1 champions and Coupe de France holders, for four consecutive campaigns.

PSG vs Marseille: Chevalier prospers from penalties

PSG had the better of the early stages, culminating in Dembele deftly lobbing goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli from the edge of the penalty area after Marseille conceded possession.

Each side sent shots against posts – Timothy Weah during the first half for Marseille, Doue after the break for PSG – before Greenwood equalised from the spot, having been brought down by Chevalier.

The unfortunate Pacho then stretched to divert in a cross and inadvertently turn the scoreline around in Marseille’s favour, but Ramos’s remarkably late intervention gave the reigning European champions a momentum they used to triumph again.

Luis Enrique’s side, who are a point shy of leaders Lens in second place in Ligue 1, are next in action at home to Paris FC in the Coupe de France round of 32 on Monday (20:10 GMT).

Third-placed Marseille are seven points behind them and visit minnows Bayeux at the same stage of the competition on Tuesday (20:00).
