Xavi Espart scored his first goal for Barcelona as they cruised into a 2-0 lead in their LaLiga clash with Levante.

Barca travelled to Estadio Ciudad de Valencia having reeled off four successive league wins to start their title defence.

And they needed just five minutes to put themselves on course for a fifth as 19-year-old Espart opened his Barcelona account.

Playing at left-back, Espart displayed his attacking prowess by finding the bottom-left corner after Raphinha prodded the ball into his path on the edge of the area.

Finding the net at 19 years and 115 days old, Espart became the second-youngest defender to score for Barca in the 21st century after Pau Cubarsí, who netted against Girona in February at the age of 19 years and 25 days.

Fourteen minutes later it was 2-0, Raphinha again the provider as Lamine Yamal was presented with a simple finish.

Levante failed to cut out a superb long pass from Fermin Lopez, with Raphinha doing brilliantly to control the ball after it looped into the air before rounding the goalkeeper and pulling back for Yamal to slam into an empty net.
