Real Madrid president Florentino Perez hailed Carlo Ancelotti as “forever a part of the Madridista family” after the club finally acknowledged the Italian’s departure.
Ancelotti will take charge of Madrid for the final time tomorrow as his side host Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabeu.
It promises to be an emotional occasion with the fans getting their chance to say goodbye to Ancelotti and midfielder Luka Modric.
🤍 THANK YOU.#GraciasCarlo

Perez said: “Carlo Ancelotti will forever be part of the great Madridista family. We feel incredibly honoured to have had the chance to enjoy a coach who has helped us achieve so much success, but who has also embodied our club’s values in such exemplary fashion.”
Ancelotti has enjoyed two spells in charge of Madrid, leading the club to 15 trophies, including three Champions League titles and two La Liga crowns.

This season has been a major disappointment, however.
Madrid have lost all four Clasicos with Barcelona, including one in the Copa del Rey final, and finished second to their great rivals in La Liga.
The defence of their Champions League crown was ended by Arsenal at the quarter-final stage.
Ancelotti had already confirmed he would leave Madrid at the end of the season – and prior to the Club World Cup. He will take over as coach of the Brazil national team for their June internationals and lead the Selecao into next summer’s World Cup finals in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
