Marcus Rashford included in Barcelona’s squad for LaLiga opener against Mallorca after finally registering Manchester United loanee
Marcus Rashford has been included in Barcelona’s squad to face Mallorca in their LaLiga opener on Saturday night after finally registering the Manchester United loanee.
Rashford and fellow new signing Joan Garcia’s participation in this evening’s away game had been in doubt after reports they were struggling to confirm the duo’s registration in time.
But the Blaugrana have been successful in their endeavours, with both players’ names appearing in the confirmed squad announced on Saturday morning for the game.
Rashford joined Barcelona from the Red Devils this summer on a season-long loan, with the LaLiga giants able to make the move permanent next summer.
After being frozen out at Old Trafford by manager Ruben Amorim, he spent last season on loan at Aston Villa, where he scored four goals and provided six assists in 17 games and earned a return to the England squad.
Now at Barca, he could make his debut for the club this evening and will be a contender to start up front with Robert Lewandowski ruled out through injury.
Meanwhile, Wojciech Szczensy, Gerard Martin, and Roony Bardghji have not been registered and are not included in the squad for the Mallorca game.
