Barcelona official slams Real Madrid as ‘a disgrace’ and launches attack on Jose Mourinho ahead of Clasico

Barcelona president Joan Laporta’s advisor Enric Masip has launched a furious attack on Real Madrid and Jose Mourinho ahead of Sunday’s Clasico, accusing their rivals of damaging Spanish football.

Masip, who serves as an advisor to Laporta, criticised Madrid’s conduct amid the ongoing tensions between the two clubs surrounding the Negreira case.

Speaking at the Nacex Challenge event at Club Golf Barcelona, the former handball player also took aim at Mourinho, contrasting the Real Madrid manager’s behaviour with that of Barcelona boss Hansi Flick.

“What Madrid does is a shame and is mistreating the entire competition,” he said.

“When someone uses these techniques, they advance to cover up their own problems by referring to their greatest rival.

“In three and a half years, nothing has ever been proven and will never be done. There has been nothing.

“It has been years since we alluded to dark times in this country when a team did benefit and won titles because of that impartiality. Red lines have been crossed.”

Mourinho targeted ahead of Sunday’s Clasico

Masip reserved some of his strongest criticism for Mourinho, who is preparing to face Barcelona at Camp Nou this weekend.

The advisor referenced Mourinho’s infamous confrontation with former Barcelona assistant Tito Vilanova, when the Portuguese coach poked him in the eye during a heated Clasico in 2011.

“When someone says they see strange things… strange things is putting your finger on a coach,” Masip said.

“He (Mourinho) throws darts. Watch a press conference Mourinho and one of Flick… Flick, they are the values of the Barca.”

Masip added: “For Mourinho and Real Madrid the other person is always to blame.”
