Kevin De Bruyne scored twice as Belgium cruised to a 3-0 victory over Turkey in the UEFA Nations League.
Beaten 1-0 by France last time out, the Red Devils bounced back in style, with Napoli star De Bruyne the standout in Liege.
De Bruyne opened the scoring in the 10th minute, collecting the loose ball and skipping beyond the challenge of a defender before rifling into the bottom-right corner.
He bettered that fine goal with his second, which came just before the hour mark as he met Youri Tielemans’ lay-off with a trademark curling strike into the top-left corner.
Romelu Lukaku put the game beyond doubt in the 76th minute when he turned home from Charles De Ketelaere’s pull back to make it two wins from three for new boss Mark van Bommel. Belgium are second in League A Group 1 behind France, who drew 1-1 with Italy.
Turkey, meanwhile, are without a point from their first three games, their poor form under Vincenzo Montella continuing after a dismal group-stage exit at the World Cup.
Lewandowski leads Poland rout of Romania, Dzeko says farewell
Robert Lewandowski inspired Poland to their first win of the League B campaign, scoring a hat-trick in a 6-0 rout of 10-man Romania.
Lewandowski opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Radu Draugsin was sent off for a shove on the striker as he attempted to latch onto a long ball into the area.
He turned home his second from point-blank range two minutes into the second half following good work down the left from Nicola Zalewski. An own goal then put the game beyond doubt and, after Piotr Zielinski and Jan Bednarek added further gloss to the scoreline, Lewandowski completed his seventh international treble late on when he hammered home at the near post.
In Zenica, Edin Dzeko bid farewell to international football as he made his final appearance for Bosnia-Herzegovina in their 1-1 draw with Sweden.
The residential building behind the stadium was illuminated with flares in the 11th minute of the clash as tribute to Dzeko, who had a goal disallowed in first-half stoppage time for a foul in the build-up, with Sweden’s Viktor Gyokeres having earlier seen an effort chalked off for handball following a VAR check.
Gyokeres did break the deadlock in the 61st minute before Dzeko left the field to a guard of honour.
Kerim Alajbegovic equalised 10 minutes from the end of normal time to salvage a point for Bosnia, who are two points behind leaders Sweden and a point ahead of Poland in Group 4 of the second tier.
Northern Ireland surged to the top of Group 2 with a stunning 3-0 win over Ukraine in Slovakia, while Milos Kerkez scored the only goal of the game as Hungary beat Georgia 1-0.
