Xabi Alonso gets another chance to assess his Chelsea squad this morning when they face Juventus in their latest pre-season friendly.
It has been another summer of upheaval at the London club and Alonso has to work out which players he will keep and which ones will move on ahead of the start of the new Premier League season.
This is Chelsea’s third game on their tour of Asia following a wild 6-4 win over the Western Sydney Wanderers and a 2-1 defeat to a Tottenham side that played virtually the whole second half with 10 men.
Juve are unbeaten in three pre-season friendlies under Luciano Spalletti, who was kept on despite the club missing out on a top-four Serie A finish last season and settling for Europa League football.

Mykhailo Mudryk is named among the substitutes and could make his first appearance in 20 months. The Ukraine winger has not played since November 2024 after testing positive for the banned substance meldonium. His case was resolved last week and Mudryk jumped on the first available flight to Hong Kong.
