Dominik Szoboszlai has come to Liverpool’s rescue in the first half against Atletico Madrid.
The two European powerhouses meet again in the Champions League, with a lively Anfield heading into half-time with something to cheer about.
The Reds had fallen behind thanks to a well-worked goal from Diego Simeone’s men, Marcos Llorente latching on to a through ball before slotting past Alisson in goal.
But Liverpool’s sustained pressure following the goal paid off.
After working the ball into the penalty box, Szoboszlai slid a delicate backheel from Ronald Araujo past Jan Oblak, to draw the hosts level.
Proceedings have since taken an aggressive turn, with former Tottenham man Cristian Romero escaping punishment for a late challenge on Alexander Isak.
The game remains level at 1-1 heading into the second half.
