WATCH: Doue gives PSG early lead against Liverpool

Paris Saint-Germain have stormed into the lead against Liverpool in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.

The reigning champions started brightly in the French capital, putting the Reds under immediate pressure and forcing them into a defensive shape.

But the quality on display at the Parc Des Princes was too much for the Premier League giants, who conceded just 10 minutes in.

After an impressive run from Ousmane Dembele that saw him glide past four Liverpool shirts, the ball fell to Desire Doue, who checked back from his run into the left-hand side of the box.

Space opened up for the Frenchman, who did not hesitate to shift the ball out of his feet and strike it towards goal.

Rather than soar straight at Giorgi Mamardashvili, the ball took a wicked deflection off Hugo Ekitike, before looping up and over the Georgian goalkeeper.

It was an unfortunate moment for the visitors, who were immediately put on the back foot.

Since the goal, Liverpool have managed to gain a foothold in the match, and head into the half-time break just one goal behind.

They will be hoping to limit the damage in the second 45, and take the game back to Anfield in a reasonable position.
