Simone Inzaghi brushed off questions about his future as Inter Milan coach ahead of their Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.
Inzaghi has led Inter to a second Champions League final in three seasons, having seen them suffer defeat to Manchester City in the 2023.
His time with the Nerazzurri has resulted in a Scudetto, two Coppa Italia titles and a pair of Supercoppa Italiana triumphs.
But there is speculation the final against PSG could be his last game with Inter, with Saudi side Al-Hilal reportedly interested in making him their coach.
However, Inzaghi was not interested in discussing anything but the task at hand in his pre-match press conference.
“My future is that tomorrow there is a final. That is all I want to talk about,” said Inzaghi.
“The senior management are here, but we’ll have a chat next week in a relaxed manner. We will always have the best interest of Inter at heart.”
Inter came up short in their defence of the Scudetto as Napoli dethroned them in Serie A. Having been knocked out of the Coppa Italia by AC Milan, who also prevailed in the Supercoppa, a defeat to PSG would see Inzaghi’s men end the campaign trophyless.
The Serie A race went down to the final round of games, but Napoli’s 2-0 win over Cagliari handed the title to the Partenopei and former Inter boss Antonio Conte.
“A final is something different. All the teams we faced were great opponents. It’s true that we’ve won a lot,” Inzaghi added.
“We’re proud of representing Inter. I dreamed of playing in the Champions League final as a child. I never did. As a player, I also got only to the quarter-finals. As a coach, it will be my second final with this team.
“We have put the league behind us. I see determination and focus from the players, rather than obsessing over [losing the Scudetto]. Tomorrow we will take our chances.”
