Arsenal go into tonight’s EFL Cup fourth-round clash with Brighton in wonderful form after winning seven games on the bounce in all competitions.
Mikel Arteta’s men extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to four points with Sunday’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace although it was not a game that will live long in the memory.
The Gunners will aim to add some attacking flair to their defensive solidity at the Emirates against a Brighton side who lost 4-2 at Manchester United at the weekend.
Fabian Hurzeler’s men have blazed a trail through the EFL Cup so far with successive 6-0 wins at Oxford and Barnsley.
However, the Seagulls’ relationship with the fourth round of this competitions has been less than kind, they’ve failed to reach the quarter-finals since 1978-79 and have exited at this stage in four of the last five campaigns.
