Tunisia vs Equatorial Guinea betting tips: Africa Cup of Nations qualifier preview, predictions and odds

These two have met four times in qualifiers since November 2019. Tunisia won the first three of these matches before Equatorial Guinea enjoyed a 1-0 victory last year. Tunisia are unbeaten in 27 competitive matches on home soil, a run that dates back to July 2010.

Tunisia to win and both teams to score NO is 10/11.

Tunisia to win and under 2.5 goals is 15/8.

Match preview

The big two in Group J go head-to-head at Stade Olympique Hammadi Agrebi.

Tunisia have enjoyed mix fortunes in 2022 so far, firstly crashing out of the Africa Cup of Nations at the quarter-final stage.

Nevertheless, the Eagles of Carthage bounced back in March by qualifying for the World Cup, edging out Mali 1-0 in aggregate in the play-offs.

So, later this year, Jalel Kadri will lead his country at their sixth World Cup where they’ll face Denmark, probably Peru and France.

Before then, they kick off Africa Cup of Nations qualifying with a tough matchday one fixture.

Equatorial Guinea were one of the surprise packages at January’s AFCON, beating Algeria, Sierra Leone and Mali before falling to Senegal in the quarter-finals.

That was the first time they’d featured at a tournament not on home soil, so Juan Micha’s team are desperate to qualify once again.

With minnows Libya and Botswana also in this group, these two teams are overwhelming favourites to qualify.

Here, Tunisia should make home advantage count.

Tunisia team news

Captain Wahbi Khazri has been left out the squad following Saint-Étienne's relegation to Ligue 2 on Sunday.

Without him, Youssef Msakni and Naïm Sliti will be their main goal threats.

Manchester United youngster Hannibal Mejbri could also feature, adding to his 12 senior caps.

Equatorial Guinea team news

Emilio Nsue will lead the line for the visitors, looking to add to his 13 goals for Equatorial Guinea.

This season, he's made eight international appearances whilst only playing ten times for club Tuzla City who he was with for just two months.

Former West Ham United man Pedro Obiang, now of Sassuolo, is their star in midfield.
