Reading vs Blackpool betting tips: Championship preview, predictions and odds

This article provides a preview, odds and recommended bets for the Championship meeting between Reading and Blackpool on February 25th, 2023

Our recommended bet for Saturday’s clash at The Madejski Stadium comes in the form of a draw between Reading and Blackpool.

A £10 wager for such an outcome will secure you a return of £33 with Betway.

Match preview

Two sides with sights on a bounce-back result are set to lock horns in a Championship clash at the Madejski Stadium this Saturday, February 25th.

The matchup in question will see Reading act as hosts, in a meeting with relegation-battling Blackpool.

Beginning with the former, Reading have found positive results altogether difficult to come by of late.

In fact, dating back to last year, the Royals have notched just one victory from their last eight attempts in England’s 2nd tier.

This past weekend, meanwhile, Paul Ince’s troops were put to the sword by a Cardiff City outfit in the thick of the battle against relegation to League One.

Such woes, all told, have culminated in Reading free-falling from one-time promotion hopefuls to the depths of 16th in the table.

Safe to say, then, that a return to winning ways could not come at a better time than this weekend.

Such a result, though, is unlikely to come easy, up against a Blackpool side scrapping for their Championship lives.

The seasiders currently sit 2nd from bottom in England’s 2nd tier, with just a single win to their names since all the way back in October.

This three-point haul, however, did come just a week ago, when a solitary strike on the part of Ian Poveda proved enough to put Stoke City to the sword at Bloomfield Road.

Mick McCarthy’s men did follow up with a defeat in midweek, but this came in hard-fought fashion, at the hands of playoff contenders Blackburn Rovers.

Blackpool, for their part, may therefore well hold out hope of springing a surprise on their hosts at the Madejski on Saturday afternoon.

We at 101, however, view as much as frankly unlikely, instead backing the spoils to ultimately be shared upon the full-time whistle bringing a close to proceedings between the seaside club and Reading.
