Fernando Torres wasn’t so chuffed to see Demba Ba score 2 on his Chelsea debut!

What a Chelsea debut for Demba Ba!

Following the disappointing 1-0 home defeat to the Premier League side’s bottom side QPR in midweek, Chelsea bounced back with an emphatic 5-1 FA Cup win at Southampton.

After going 1-0 down on 22 to a Jay Rodriguez opener, Demba Ba notched the first of his two goals for the Chelsea equaliser as well as the fourth on 61.

We all thought Demba Ba was brought in as a striking alternative to Fernando Torres, this two-goal haul suggests the former Newcastle striker will push for a starting place against Swansea in the Capital One Cup semi-final first leg in midweek.

And, didn’t El Nino know all too well what the brace for Ba meant. He certainly didn’t look so happy on the Chelsea bench!

(As a side point, why didn’t Frank Lampard step aside and let Ba take the penalty to complete his hat-trick? Wonder if Fleet Street will mention this…)
