Benfica are considering getting rid of Adel Taarabt just months into his five year contract after the player broke a curfew rule ahead of Saturday’s 3-0 win over Paços de Ferreira.
Yet to even make the bench for Benfica since signing from QPR this summer, Adel Taarabt is in big trouble after being spotted enjoying the Lisbon nightlife at 03:30 on Saturday morning ahead of their Primeira Liga fixture against Paços de Ferreira.
Players must be home by 23:00 on the night before a match and the club are currently deciding what punishment to hand the 26-year-old Moroccan with reports suggesting he might be on his way out.
Portuguese newspaper Record believe the club are hoping his antics at the club are grounds for mutual termination.
One of the highest paid players at Benfica, Adel Taarabt was ordered to lose weight by the club in order to play in the first team in August.
