Arsenal v Crystal Palace EFL Cup preview
It is an all-London affair at the Emirates on Tuesday evening as Arsenal host Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup quarter-final, with a last-four clash against Chelsea awaiting the winner.
The Gunners have not quite been at their scintillating best in recent weeks but remain at the summit of both the Premier League and Champions League table, and manager Mikel Arteta will be hoping his team can secure a league cup semi-final spot to cap off what has been an impressive first half of the campaign.
For Palace, however, the congestion of the football calendar is beginning to take its toll. This will be their fourth match in nine days, much to the frustration of head coach Oliver Glasner.
The Austrian made 11 changes for both of his last two outings and suffered defeats in both after being held in the Conference League by Finnish side KuPS before enduring a humbling 4-1 Premier League loss at the hands of in-form Leeds.
Arsenal v Palace team news
Both side come into the contest with significant absentee lists.
Defender Gabriel remains sidelined for the hosts, while Kai Havertz is still out and Ben White will also miss the game due to a hamstring injury.
Cristhian Mosquera and Max Dowman are also missing for Arteta’s men.
Cristhian Norgaard and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga could get rare starts, while striker Gabriel Jesus could also be involved from the off after returning from a lengthy injury in recent weeks.
Glasner’s squad has been impacted by AFCON, with Ismaila Sarr representing Senegal. Other notable absentees include Daniel Munoz and Daichi Kamada, while Glasner will also not be able to call upon Rio Cardines, Chadi Riad, and Caleb Kporha.

Arsenal v Crystal Palace prediction
Arsenal
Crystal Palace
The Gunners strength in depth this season has been a key factor in their early success and will likely prove influential against an Eagles squad ravaged with injuries and unavailability.
The Premier League leaders should have enough to see off their city rivals at the Emirates and progress to the semi-final.
