The latest on Man United star Christian Eriksen’s injury recovery
Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has, on Friday, provided an update on the wellbeing of sidelined midfield star Christian Eriksen.
Danish international Eriksen, of course, was ruled out long-term earlier this year.
Forced into a premature departure from proceedings en route to United’s FA Cup downing of Reading in late January, it was subsequently revealed that the former Tottenham and Inter Milan standout had suffered a serious ankle injury.
Eriksen’s return to play timetable, in turn, was set for around three months.
#MUFC say Christian Eriksen faces an “extended period” out because of the ankle injury sustained against Reading. The club added: “While investigations are continuing, initial assessments indicate that Eriksen is likely to be out until late April or early May”. Huge blow

Speaking to the media on Friday, the subject of his absent midfielder’s progress towards a return was therefore put to Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.
And, in a boost for all associated with the club, the Dutchman went on to confirm that as much is indeed ‘going according to plan’.
Ten Hag: “Christian Eriksen will play again this season, definitely. But I can’t tell now an expectation, but I think his progress in the rehab is okay” 🔴🔙🇩🇰 #MUFC

Next on the agenda for the Eriksen-less Red Devils this weekend comes a Premier League meeting with relegation-battling Southampton on Sunday afternoon.
Ten Hag’s troops will head into proceedings eyeing a 2nd victory on the spin, after recovering from a staggering seven-goal drubbing at the hands of Liverpool last weekend by way of a 4-1 Europa League downing of Real Betis in midweek.
