Manchester United fail with sensational transfer hijack for star striker
Manchester United have failed with a late attempt to hijack a move for RB Leipzig star Karim Adeyemi with a transfer to Borussia Dortmund all but confirmed, according to Sport1.
Ralf Rangnick bemoaned the Red Devils’ lack of a ‘modern striker’ following their 3-0 win over Brentford at Old Trafford on Monday night, saying that
‘Cristiano is not a central striker or does not want to play in that position,’ said the United boss.
‘It’s obvious that the club needs, I would say, at least, two new strikers who just give this team more quality and more options. I wouldn’t even call it wingers.
‘Two strikers and modern strikers, that do not necessarily have to be wingers’.
Adeyemi would have fit that bill, while adding goals too, having scored 17 goals in 26 games for RB Salzburg this season. Capable of playing on either flank as well as through the middle, he is an exciting talent.
Manchester United tried to hijack Borussia Dortmund’s upcoming transfer deal with Karim Adeyemi. The player turned down a top offer (£150k salary per week) as he always wanted to join #BVB. The striker will sign a 5-year-contract without release clause in the coming days. @SPORT1

Dortmund planning for post-Haaland world
There are few clubs in world football as used to having to replace their star assets as often as Dortmund, yet they always seem to manage it.
They have already reinvested the significant money they are set to recoup from Erling Haaland’s sale to Manchester City should the deal go through, adding Adeyemi as well as central defensive pair Niklas Sule and Nico Schlotterbeck from Bayern Munich and SC Freiburg respectively.
And, in Adeyemi, they could have yet another striker gem that they could turn a profit on in years to come.
