Thomas Tuchel sends apology to Harry Kane after debut Super Cup embarrassment

Bayern Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel has, late on Saturday, issued something of an apology message to new signing Harry Kane.

This comes, for those who may have missed it, after Kane was afforded his debut outing in Bayern colours earlier this evening.

The Bundesliga champions were back in action a short time ago, taking on RB Leipzig in the DFL Super Cup showpiece.

A dismal showing, however, ultimately saw Bayern put to the sword by three goals to nil.

Kane, meanwhile, was introduced from the bench midway through the 2nd-half, but was unable to make a telling impact, starved of any real service in the final third.

The England international, in turn, has since found himself as the butt of the joke online, after missing yet another opportunity to secure the first silverware of his career.

Admitting that his side’s performance ‘had nothing to do with what we set out to do’, Tuchel went on to reveal that he is ‘sorry for Kane’, who ‘probably thinks we haven’t trained for four weeks’:
