Eddie Howe provides double Newcastle injury update after Bournemouth draw

Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe has, on Saturday evening, provided fitness updates on a number of members of his squad.

The Magpies, of course, marked their return to action a short time ago.

Fresh off a 1-1 stalemate against West Ham, Howe and co. made the trip to Dorset, eyeing a return to winning ways in a meeting with Bournemouth.

When all was said and done at the Vitality Stadium, however, Newcastle, once more, were forced to settle for a share of the spoils.

This came as Miguel Almiron cancelled out Marcos Senesi’s opener on the stroke of the interval, en route to another 1-1 draw.

Newcastle’s concerns on Saturday, though, were not restricted solely to a pair of points dropped amid the club’s ongoing pursuit of a Top-4 berth.

This came as, over the course of the 90 minutes at the Vitality, all of Joe Willock, Allan Saint-Maximin and Miguel Almiron picked up fitness issues.

Speaking post-match, boss Eddie Howe was therefore draw on the wellbeing of all three.

And the Englishman went on to reveal that, though Willock’s hamstring problem is a concern, there is hope that neither Saint-Maximin or Almiron have suffered anything ‘serious’.
