Crystal Palace team news & predicted line-up vs Liverpool

With only Leeds United in a worse run of form in the last six Premier League fixtures, Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace is in desperate need of a win and is set to welcome Liverpool to the capital with a view of collapsing on the Reds in the wake of their shocking 5-2 defeat against Real Madrid in their midweek Champions League fixture.

The Eagles have posted just four points and remain without a win of late while also succumbing to defeats against Chelsea and Manchester United. Though their defensive record has been serviceable in that poor run, goals remain at a premium for the London side and will be made to contend with a Jürgen Klopp side looking to set the record straight on the domestic front to save face after their midweek catastrophe.

Predicted Crystal Palace XI

Crystal Palace Team News

  • Out: Wilfried Zaha, Nathan Ferguson, Sam Johnstone
  • Doubt: James Tomkins, Tyrick Mitchell, Joel Ward

Patrick Vieira will lament the loss of his key man as Crystal Palace looks to get one over against a potentially shell-shocked Liverpool at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

Star winger Wilfried Zaha is set to miss proceedings in the capital due to his ongoing hamstring problem which amounts to a continued loss for the Eagles. The Ivorian talisman is joined by Nathan Ferguson, and backup keeper Sam Johnstone, are also out, with Johnstone not expected back into the senior squad until April.

Questions surrounding James Tompkins, Tyrick Mitchell, and Joel Ward are all question marks going into the weekend clash. Tompkins could return to the fold after missing last weekend due to personal reasons while Ward is also a doubt, but Mitchell could make his return into the matchday XI after his ankle knock sustained against Brentford is thought to not be serious enough for him to miss out here.
