Arsenal handed massive personnel boost ahead of Watford trip

Arsenal have been handed a major personnel boost ahead of their trip to relegation battling Watford as pictures have emerged of Emile Smith Rowe back in training.

The English forward missed Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Wolves at the Emirates Stadium as a result of illness, and a day later tested positive for Covid-19, it was announced on Friday afternoon by Arsenal’s social media.

Now having served his isolation period, he is back in training for Arsenal’s trip to Vicarage Road at the weekend, where a win would see Arsenal continue their fine vein of form and potentially even leapfrog Manchester United should the Red Devils fail to beat Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Watford, however, will be no pushovers under new manager Roy Hodgson, having held Manchester United to a credible draw at Old Trafford only last weekend, and Arsenal will have to be at their best to see off the challenge.

How realistic is Arsenal’s top-four charge?

In a word. Very.

Despite failing to win a game in January, the Gunners have won 9 of their last 11 Premier League clashes, dropping points only against Burnley and Manchester City, to leave them in a brilliant spot for a shot at getting back into the Champions League by finishing fourth.

With around 68-70 points needed for 4th place most years, 24 points from 14 games is certainly doable for Mikel Arteta and co.
