There was plenty of drama across Europe’s top leagues on Sunday, with AC Milan dropping points in Italy and Real Betis producing a five-goal display in Spain.
Roma were also frustrated in Serie A, while Juventus and Marseille were in action later in the evening.
Sassuolo 1-1 AC Milan
AC Milan missed the chance to close the gap on Serie A’s leading sides after being held to a 1-1 draw by Sassuolo.
Adrien Rabiot fired the visitors ahead in the 63rd minute following a delightful pass from Luka Modric, but Cas Odenthal equalised just five minutes later to earn Sassuolo a point.
Real Betis 5-2 Osasuna
Isco scored twice as Real Betis moved up to third in La Liga with a 5-2 victory over Osasuna.
Goals from Isco, Ez Abde and Diego Llorente put the hosts 3-0 ahead before Osasuna fought back to 3-2.
However, Isco struck again before Jose Antonio Morante completed the scoring in stoppage time.
Como 0-0 Roma
Roma maintained their unbeaten start to the Serie A season despite being reduced to 10 men in a goalless draw with Como.
Donyell Malen was sent off in the 53rd minute, leaving the visitors facing a difficult second half, but goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini produced several important saves to secure a point.
Cagliari 1-1 Juventus
Juventus were forced to settle for a point in Serie A after being held to a 1-1 draw by Cagliari.
The hosts frustrated the Italian giants, who were unable to find a winning goal as they dropped two points on their travels, despite fighting back from one down.
Troyes 0-2 Marseille
Marseille secured all three points in Ligue 1 with a comfortable 2-0 win away to Troyes.
The visitors produced a professional performance to see off their opponents and continue their push towards the top of the French league table.
