BREAKING: Cole Palmer signs new Chelsea contract

Cole Palmer has signed a new Chelsea contract until 2034, with the England international rewarded with improved terms following his impressive performances at Stamford Bridge.

The 24-year-old was already tied to the club until 2033 but has agreed another extension.

Palmer has established himself as a key figure in Chelsea’s attack since arriving from Manchester City for £42.5million in 2023.

The new agreement means Palmer now holds one of the longest contracts in the Premier League, with Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Chelsea teammates Joao Pedro and Geovany Quenda also contracted until 2034.

Chelsea have made a habit of handing lengthy contracts to their players, allowing the club to protect their value while maintaining a structured approach to wages.

Joao Pedro signed a new deal until 2034 in August, while Pedro Neto agreed a six-year contract last month.

Alonso provides Palmer fitness update after England absence

Despite his impressive start to the season, Palmer continues to be managed carefully following the groin injury that troubled him throughout the previous campaign.

The midfielder previously admitted that he had continued playing through the problem when he “probably shouldn’t have done”.

His fitness issues eventually contributed to his omission from England’s World Cup squad during the summer, having previously sought specialist advice over whether surgery would be necessary.

Palmer has played more minutes than any other Chelsea player this season but missed England’s latest international fixtures.
