Real Madrid can join Barcelona on 15 points atop the Liga table with a win at Elche on Tuesday.
Jose Mourinho’s side have recovered from a 1-0 domestic defeat at Real Betis on September 4 with home wins over Inter Milan in the Champions League and Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.
The Portuguese will expect to maintain that winning run against an Elche side with two points from their opening five games.
Martin Anselmi’s team claimed a deserved 1-1 draw at Athletic Bilbao on Saturday to double their tally for the season.
