Abdullah Al-Hamdan’s spectacular second-half strike spared Al-Nassr a second successive away defeat in the Saudi Pro League as Cristiano Ronaldo’s side missed the chance to move level on points with leaders Al-Hilal by drawing with Al-Khaleej in Dammam.

Real Madrid youth product Omar Mascarell headed in Angelo Fulgini’s delivery to give the hosts, who are yet to win this season, a shock lead during first-half added time.

Saudi Arabia forward Al-Hamdan collected Inigo Martinez’s pass and equalised from distance with 18 minutes remaining, leaving Al-Nassr a point behind second-placed Al-Ittihad, who beat them 2-1 in their previous match on the road.
