Barcelona have confirmed the signing of Joao Cancelo.
The versatile defender is set for a third spell at Camp Nou after joining on a deal until 2029, his contract with Saudi side Al Hilal having come to an end.
Cancelo spent last season on loan at Barcelona, winning the LaLiga title, having also had a loan spell in Catalonia during the 2023-24 campaign.
The Portugal international’s arrival boosts Hansi Flick’s options at the back, with Cancelo able to play both full-back spots and as a makeshift right-side midfielder when required.
Cancelo becomes Barcelona’s fifth signing of a busy summer that has also seen them acquire Anthony Gordon, Karim Adeyemi and Rodri as they aim to continue their dominance of LaLiga and win the Champions League for the first time since 2015.
The 32-year-old made 23 appearances for Barcelona last season, scoring twice.
