Celtic extended their perfect start to the season to four wins in all competitions and will reach the league phase of the Champions League barring a collapse against LASK in Linz after thrashing their play-off opponents in the first leg at Celtic Park.
In a richly entertaining contest that was more even than the scoreline might suggest, LASK almost took an immediate lead when Moses Usor’s fierce strike was ruled out for offside, setting nerves jangling among the boisterous home fans before Benjamin Nygren put their side ahead from the edge of the box in the 26th minute.

Samuel Adeniran then had an equaliser disallowed when the forward’s header was disallowed for offside, LASK’s misery compounded when Camilo Duran’s superb volley doubled Celtic’s lead in the 38th minute.

Callum McGregor shot against a post via a deflection from Celtic teammate Kasper Hogh after the restart, with Viljami Sinisalo’s subsequent excellent save to deny Usor proving even more valuable when Duran drove in another expert finish, completing a flowing move featuring Nygren and Hogh.

Celtic vs Lask: When is Champions League second leg?
The second leg takes place in Linz on Tuesday (20:00 BST / 15:00 ET / 12:00 PT), with neither side in action at the weekend.
The victors in the tie will join the league phase draw on August 27. Matchday one of the Champions League is on September 8.
