Juventus have moved on quickly from Emiliano Martinez and are expected to complete a deal today to sign Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
Juve called off a move for Martinez on Sunday night after talks with the Argentinian’s club, Aston Villa, and swiftly turned their attention to Vicario.
The Bianconeri have offered a package to Tottenham that would see them take the 29-year-old on a season-long loan with the option to make it permanent next summer.
And with Spurs looking to trim the wage bill after investing heavily over the past couple of months, a deal appears beneficial to all parties.
Vicario will fly to Turin today to undergo a medical and complete the paperwork.
Vicario lost his way at Tottenham
It will bring an end to Vicario’s three-year spell in North London that started brightly before fading.
The former Empoli number one was brought in to replace Hugo Lloris and was the first-choice in his first two seasons, helping Spurs win the 2024/25 Europa League crown by keeping a clean sheet in the final win over Manchester United.
But, after undergoing surgery on a hernia in March, he failed to reclaim his place from Antonin Kinsky for the final two games despite Spurs scrapping for their lives in a relegation battle they eventually won over West Ham.
Kinsky is the Spurs number one for the upcoming campaign and Vicario will depart having made 117 appearances in all competitions, keeping 29 clean sheets.
