Aston Villa have hit back against Paris Saint-Germain with the UEFA Super Cup on the line.
After falling behind early on through Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s strike in the 20th minute, the Premier League side rallied.
In what is Unai Emery’s fourth attempt at winning the European curtain-raiser, the Villans refused to lay down to the Champions League holder.
And it was 17-year-old Brian Madjo who got the equaliser.
With Ollie Watkins yet to return to action following his World Cup duties this summer, Madjo has been given plenty of minutes by his head coach, and he is already reaping the rewards.
The physical forward bullied his way to a cross delivered by captain John McGinn, before bundling the ball home past Matvey Safonov.
Despite having just 33% possession in the first half, Villa remain well and truly alive in the Super Cup.
