Erling Haaland will hope to build on his two goals in Norway’s World Cup opener against Iraq when they take on Senegal tonight.
Haaland’s double helped Norway to an opening round 4-1 win but things should be more difficult against a team that won the 2025 African Cup of Nations crown only to have it stripped away from them in controversial circumstances.
The Lions of Teranga lost 3-1 to France in their opening game but caused problems for the 2022 runners-up throughout the contest and were rewarded with a goal from teenage forward Ibrahim Mbaye.
Senegal also have positive memories against Norway, having won the only previous meeting between the nations 2-1 in a friendly back in 2006.
