Chelsea v Port Vale: Confirmed team news and line-ups for FA Cup quarter-final

Port Vale have the chance to do the unthinkable this afternoon and advance to an FA Cup semi-final.

To do that, they will have to win at Chelsea in what would be one of the biggest cup shocks in years.

The visitors prop up League One and are virtual certainties to suffer relegation to the bottom tier of English league football. Those struggles have not been evident in the cup, however, with wins over Championship side Bristol City and Premier League outfit Sunderland in the last two rounds.

A trip to Stamford Bridge is a more difficult proposition. Liam Rosenior’s men have lost their last four games in all competitions and will see this as an excellent chance to win some silverware this season.

Chelsea forward Willian Estevao

Chelsea Team News

Enzo Fernandez is missing for Chelsea as he starts a two-match ban imposed by the club for remarks the Argentine made about wanting to live in Madrid. Willian Estevao starts in his place.

There are two other changes to the side that lost 3-0 at Everton before the international break.

Marc Cucurella misses out with Tosin Adarabioyo coming in. Jorrel Hato switches from the centre to left-back. Andrey Santos replaced Moises Caicedo in central midfield.

Cole Palmer wears the captain’s armband.

Chelsea: Sanchez, Gusto, Fofana, Tosin, Hato, Lavia, Santos, Estevao, Palmer, Joao Pedro.

Port Vale Team News
