Arsenal put their Premier League title challenge on hold for the weekend and focused on progressing in the FA Cup.

Mikel Arteta’s sole trophy in charge of the Gunners remains the 2020 FA Cup and he was eager to take another step towards a Wembley return at home to Wigan Athletic.

The Latics won the cup in 2013 but that seemed a distant memory with Wigan in the League One relegation zone.

The visitors were also without a permanent manager following the sacking of Ryan Lowe.
