Real Madrid regained the Liga leadership with a win at home to Real Sociedad.

Alvaro Arbeloa’s men had regularly claimed top spot only for Barcelona to take it back, and that could be the situation again this weekend with the Catalans going to Girona on Monday.

Madrid won 2-1 in San Sebastian in September and another victory moved them two points clear.

Sociedad were in great form, having not lost in any competition since December 12 on a run that included a 2-1 defeat of Barca.
