Chelsea v West Ham – Line-ups, stats and preview

Chelsea v West Ham Match Preview

Chelsea host near neighbours West Ham on the back of a fine comeback win in Naples in midweek that saw Cole Palmer make a match-winning return from the bench.

Joao Pedro’s two superb goals rescued the win against Napoli and now Chelsea turn their attentions to the Premier League and chasing a top-four finish.

The Blues head into the weekend in fifth place, just a point behind Manchester United, while West Ham are still in big trouble at the bottom.

The Hammers start the weekend five points shy of safety and to make matters worse West Ham have won just one of their last 19 Premier League away games against Chelsea.

Is this the weekend to end that dismal run?

Chelsea v West Ham team news

Palmer is pushing for a first start since recovering from injury and must be in serious contention to do so after his antics against Napoli.

Captain Reece James played in the centre of defence against Napoli but could move back to full-back or even central midfield.

The Hammers couuld hand new signing Adama Traore some minutes as Nuno Espirito Santo freshens his squad for the run-in.
