Leicester City snap up Alisha Lehmann
Lehmann returns to the Midlands where she also played for Aston Villa
Leicester City have signed Alisha Lehmann from FC Como on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
Lehmann has won 64 caps for Switzerland and will add more experience to the squad following the arrivals of Ashleigh Neville, Rachel Williams and Sarah Mayling.
The 27-year-old forward left Aston Villa for Juventus in 2024 and was part of the squad that won a Serie A and Coppa Italia double. A short stint at Como failed to work out, and she is pleased to be back in the Super League.
Lehmann happy to be ‘home’
“It feels amazing and I’m so happy to be here,” Lehmann told Leicester’s official website. “It feels like a homecoming, coming back to England, and I’m really happy.
“Leicester are an amazing club. I’ve seen the training ground and, of course, the stadium. They want to push women’s football forward.
“In every country, football is so different. You meet new people and learn different things about football. I learned a lot and played with some great players, but England is my home so I’m happy to be back.
“What makes me happy in life is football. It’s not about where I live or the climate I’m in, but playing because we have one career, and I want to make the most out of it.”
Leicester were beaten 1-0 at Spurs last weekend and sit ninth in the 12-team league.
