The Cityzens beat Fluminense 4-0 in the 2023 final in Saudi Arabia, with the competition now expanded from the seven sides who took part on that occasion.

Jack Grealish and Kyle Walker were the most prominent names left out of City’s squad in the US, with new signings Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki, Tijjani Reijnders and Marcus Bettinelli all included.
