Spurs have beaten Man United to sign the ‘Turkish Dybala’

Spurs coup

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly beaten Manchester United to the signing of a player nicknamed the ‘Turkish Dybala‘. Cengiz Ünder is a 19-year-old forward who has found fame at Turkish Super Lig side Başakşehir.

Turkish sports radio station Radyospor reports that Spurs have had an £8 million offer accepted by the Istanbul-based club. It is the conclusion of lengthy negotiations between the two clubs.

Başakşehir had signed Under for just €500,000 last summer from Altinordu.

What followed was a very promising season in which Under scored nine and assisted seven in all competitions. His good form saw him receive his first caps for Turkey. He scored his first international goal in a 3-2 win over Moldova.

United were said to be watching Under with a view to making a bid but no official offer came.

Under’s camp also allegedly had offers from Spanish clubs.
