Atletico Madrid midfielder Gabi has encouraged Diego Costa to respect Chelsea as he pushes for a move to return to the Spanish capital.
Costa has been locked in a stand off with Chelsea since the season finished after Antonio Conte informed him he would not be part of his plans via text message.
This angered the striker an extreme amount and the player refused to go near the club during pre-season and is still rouge now that the season has begun.
The player will certainly not play for Chelsea again and has been fined and suspended by the club after he has not turned up to one training session.
There is even talk of a potential lawsuit against Costa who is essentially refusing to do the job he is contracted to do and still being paid.
Costa only has eyes for one club and in a statement on Thursday, he confirmed that it was Atletico Madrid or bust for his career.
That is proving difficult with Chelsea seemingly not lowering their asking price as Atletico will not meet the clubs valuation.
That has left Costa in the middle of a standoff which could still rage on until the end of the window.
Atletico are still able to sign players during their transfer ban but Costa would not be able to play for the club until January, with a temporary loan move likely.
Diego Costa says he's waiting for Chelsea to set him free. Not coming back to London. Only destination Atlético: "I must return to Atlético"

Gabi urges Diego to have respect
Veteran midfielder Gabi would obviously like Diego Costa to return to the club, but he has implored that the player does it respectfully.
So far, the saga between Diego and Conte has been a shambles and a move is certainly not going to be done amicably.
Though, Gabi has still urged the player to have some respect as he looks to engineer a move.
“There is Chelsea in the middle and when you are part of a club you must respect the badge and try and leave in the best way,” he explained.
